Conjure Motion ✦ where dance becomes ritual, and archetypes come alive in the body ✦
Conjure Motion is a transformational movement system for mystics, artists, and seekers who crave more than just choreography—they crave embodied initiation.
Created by Tanya Lee, this practice fuses ritual, archetypal storytelling, and fusion bellydance into a path of reclamation—one that honors both fire and feeling, structure and soul.
Here, movement is magick. Here, we dance to awaken the part of ourselves that remembers who we were before the world told us to be small. We breathe life into symbols. We rewrite inherited stories through the body. We lead ourselves home.
This is a personal practice. A place to unearth your voice, your rhythm, your fire. It’s also a shared space—a living ritual of community performance, ancestral remembrance, and embodied storytelling.
Rooted in American Fusion Belly Dance—with inspirations from SWANA traditions, Caribbean and Polynesian forms, contemporary dance, yoga, and ceremonial magick—Conjure Motion is a modern alchemical art form.

Conjure Motion is not just about choreography—it’s a transformational practice that weaves together movement, tarot, astrology, ritual, and storytelling. It's rooted in Yoga philosophy with internal awareness and healing as a priority - many people liken it to a "dancing Tai Chi". Each class is an invitation to embody archetypes, align with cosmic cycles, and awaken your inner magick.
Not at all. Conjure Motion welcomes all bodies, all levels, and all expressions. Whether you’re brand new to dance or a seasoned mover, the practices are designed to meet you where you are and grow with you over time.
The movement is rooted in American Fusion Bellydance, with influence from SWANA traditions, Polynesian and Caribbean forms, contemporary dance, martial arts, yoga, and original motions that developed organically on the festival dance floor. Global Electronic Dance Music (EDM) guide the rhythmic pulse of our movements. It's often described as fluid, expressive, and deeply intentional.
The bones of the system as a whole were created through the 'Sigil Method' (Amy Sigil) of organizing dance moves into categories (ie. Stall Moves, Combinations, Pass Thrus, etc). These structured categories allow the dance form to be transformed into smooth improvisational experiences within a group of movers who "speak" the Conjure Motion dance language. This allows us to do divinatory dances in the moment!
Yes. While these archetypal systems are woven into the fabric of the work, you don’t need to be an expert (or even familiar) to benefit. Think of them as poetic tools that help us explore and express different aspects of the self.

You’re not alone. Conjure Motion honors both the hidden and the radiant parts of you. You are never required to perform—our focus is on expression, healing, and reclamation. This movement was originally created as a personal practice, secondarily as a performance art. If you ever choose to step onto the stage, it will be in your own power, your own way.
Welcome home. This is not about perfect lines—it’s about alignment. If your body holds a story, you can dance it here.
Yes. Side effects may include: sudden bursts of confidence, crying during moon meditations, impeccable playlist taste, and feeling inexplicably powerful while walking to the grocery store.
That’s the secret. Come find out.
